PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize excellent control characteristics according to the operating conditions of a high-pressure fuel pump in the high-pressure fuel pump of a direct-injection engine.

SOLUTION: An engine ECU performs a program including a step (S210) of detecting a fuel pressure P while the high-pressure fuel pump is controlled at the minimum discharge rate (YES in S200) and a step (S230) of prohibiting the calculation of integrated items Qi even if a detected fuel pressure P is larger than a target fuel pressure P (0) (YES in S220).
