<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data backup method for storing more data into a small-capacity non-volatile memory, and to provide a memory device storing the data into the non-volatile memory by use of the data backup method. <P>SOLUTION: A first area 10 and a second area 20 in an EEPROM 30 are respectively provided with data storage areas 11, 21 and checksum areas 12, 22.
