<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with optical axis alignment of an optical fiber and moreover to make a ferrule unbreakable against a prescribed impact. <P>SOLUTION: The ferrule (1) is long and composed of a ferrule body (10) in which an optical fiber (15) is fixedly inserted in the center hole (11) and a mounting flange (30) which is fitted to the circumference in the middle of the ferrule body (10). In the middle of the ferrule body (10), a groove (13) is formed reaching the center hole (11) from the circumferential face (12). Inside the groove (13), a thin film filter (20) is arranged through which the optical axis of the optical fiber divided by the groove (13) passes. An annular recess (32) is formed in the inner periphery of the mounting flange (30) corresponding to the groove (13) formed-part of the ferrule body (10), wherein a through hole (34) in communication with the recess (32) is formed in the mounting flange (30).
