<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of effectively maintaining power saving conditions and effectively making use of a function of an image formation system. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus provides a communication means (LANC 1) for performing data communication with at least one of external devices, a detecting means (20) for detecting an access which does not have a data communication function and includes a specific identifier from the outside, a first output means (S101) for externally outputting a power saving transition notice indicating transition to a second power state which conducts to the detecting means (20), and a second output means (S108) for externally outputting a power saving return notice indicating transition from the second power state to a first power state.
