PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a pillow which is not anxious about an insect, dust and powder such as a natural material, and causes no stuffiness, shape loss and static electricity such as a chemical material. SOLUTION: The method for producing the closed-cell foaming material (bead) comprises (1) a first process for mixing and agitating a polyproylene pellet, a scallop shell powder, a cirrus balloon and an expanding agent pellet, (2) a second process for extruding the mixture by an extruder while heating, cutting by a rotary cutter and producing an expanded bead, (3) a third process for cooling the expanded bead by water having ordinary temperature, and (4) a fourth process for drying the expanded bead.
