PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which prevents separation of a recording medium from a transfer belt, or prevents friction of the recording medium with a recording head caused by the separation to stably form a high quality image. SOLUTION: In the image forming device, the relation between a tension roller 28 and a transfer guide plate 29 is set so that the angleθ1, formed by the flat surface 221A of the transfer belt 21 facing a recording head 7 and by the tilting surface 221B of the transfer belt 21 located on the downstream side from the recording head 7 and tilting downward, is set to an angle allowing no separation of the recording medium 12 sucked to the transfer belt 21 by static force therefrom.
