<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gland packing capable of facilitating replacement with a new gland packing by pulling the gland packing mounted between a bearing hole in a bearing part receiving water pressure of a pump and a rotary shaft out of the bearing hole easily. <P>SOLUTION: Pull-out threads 6 having diameter being as small as possible and high strength and made of synthetic fibers are continuously provided near a break 5 of a gland packing main body 4 by providing bearing width K in the gland packing main body 4 having the break 5 mounted between the bearing hole 2a in the bearing part of a casing of the pump and the rotary shaft 3 inserted into the bearing hole 2a. The pull-out thread 6 has such a length that allows application of a finger to pull the pull-out thread 6 out of an outer side of the bearing part 2 in which the gland packing main body 4 is mounted, and both end parts 6a, 6b of the pull-out thread 6 are mutually linked to form a loop. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
