[Class 20(iii)] [Also in Group XXX] A sliding door is hung from a horizontal length of steel section secured to the architrave, &c., and to the upper surface of a horizontal member of the section is welded a round steel bar on which engage slippers secured to a bracket extending from the upper part of the door. As shown, the track comprises a bright drawn mild steel bar D welded to the horizontal part of a mild steel angle section C, the vertical part of which is screwed directly to the architrave B, or welded to angle brackets screwed to the under surface of the architrave. Each door support comprises a phosphor bronze slipper E having a part cylindrical or V-groove engaging the bar D, and lugs e locating the sides of a bracket F to which it is riveted. The lower part of the bracket F may extend vertically downwards and be screwed directly to the door face, or may be as shown, a set screw G in a clearance hole therein adjustably engaging a threaded bracket a let into the door. A nut g locks the set screw. |
