PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally control the operating condition of an internal combustion engine when started. SOLUTION: This control device comprises an electronic throttle valve 22 provided in an intake passage of the internal combustion engine 10, a crank angle sensor 38 for detecting a crank angle position of the internal combustion engine 10, and a valve closing means for closing an intake air control valve at a predetermined crank angle position after starting the engine. The electronic throttle valve 22 is closed at the predetermined crank angle position after starting the engine, thereby suppressing the dispersion of the behavior of intake air each time at starting. This suppresses the dispersion of a combustion condition each time at starting and improves engine startability, exhaust emission and drivability. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
