PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the best coating of a sealant while taking a spread of the sealant into consideration when substrates are laminated. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method for a liquid crystal device including a stage of coating at least one of a pair of substrates with the sealant 11 and laminating the pair of substrates through the sealant 11, the sealant 11 is applied in dots by a droplet discharging device 20. Especially, a droplet discharging device 20 which has a plurality of nozzles N linearly arrayed is used as the droplet discharging device 20 and then the sealant 11 can be applied in a proper amount from the plurality of nozzles N at a time.
