PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate an error based on a bending moment included in an output from a load cell. SOLUTION: Strain gages 6a, 6b provided on a resilient part 4 of a pillar-shaped resilient member on which a load is placed generate a weight measurement signal. The weight measurement signal includes an error component based on the bending moment applied to the resilient member by loading of the load on the strain body. Strain gages 12a, 12b provided on the resilient part 4 output a bending strain measurement signal based on bending strain generated in the resilient member by the bending moment. A CPU 34 inputs the weight measurement signal and the bending strain measurement signal, and compensates the error component included in the weight measurement signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
