PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact microstrip antenna with a simple configuration which can vary the radiation direction of radio beams, and reduce power loss on a feeding line. SOLUTION: The microstrip antenna is provided with a feeding elements, non-feeding elements, and a grounding means for switching the non-feeding elements in a grounded state or in a floating state. An analog circuit unit and a digital circuit unit are stacked on the back side of an antenna body in an order of the antenna body, the digital circuit unit, and the analog circuit unit; a high-frequency oscillation circuit is provided near the center part of the back surface of the analog circuit unit; and a feeding line from the high-frequency oscillation circuit to the feeding element arranged on the surface of the antenna body linearly extends through the analog circuit unit, the digital circuit unit, and the antenna body. This configuration can vary the radiation direction of radio beams, reduce the power loss on the feeding line, and make the antenna compact. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
