PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To analyze a reply mail containing defective contents to correct image data based on the result analyzed and retransmit the image corrected when transmitted image data are found to be defective in an image processing device equipped with a function to transmit the image data obtained by scanning a manuscript with the image data attached to an e-mail. SOLUTION: The image processing device 10 is equipped with a manuscript scanning means 11 for scanning the manuscript to obtain the image data, a storage means 17 for storing the image data obtained, a transmitting mail production unit 18a for attaching the image data obtained to the e-mail for making information on the defect to be sent back and transmitting the image data to a client PC 30, a received mail analyzing unit 18 b for analyzing a received mail from the client PC 30, and an image correction controller 18c for selecting the image data, from the storage means 17, according to image identification information contained in a return mail to correct the defect of the image data selected from the information on the defect.
