PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage of a hull and a rudder in steering and to prevent subversion of a vessel. SOLUTION: This steering device to control and drive the rudder in accordance with a steering angle indicating signal input from an operation means is furnished with a vessel speed measuring means to output vessel speed signal by measuring vessel speed, a control means to generate a control signal by limiting steering angle indication which the steering angle indicating signal shows in accordance with the vessel speed shown by the vessel speed signal within a steering angle critical value by memorizing the steering angle critical value corresponding to the vessel speed and a driving means to drive the rudder in accordance with the control signal input from the control means.
