<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cheap cathode and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of reversibly charging and discharging, and obtaining excellent charging-discharging property. <P>SOLUTION: A material containing 80 wt.% of sodium cobaltate (NaCoO<SB>2</SB>) powder as cathode activator, 10 wt.% of Ketjen black powder as conductive agent, and 10 wt.% of polytetrafluoroethylene as binder is prepared for manufacturing a cathode activator. It is preferable to use Na<SB>x</SB>Co<SB>y</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(0<x≤1.0, y<1.5) as the sodium cobaltate. Crystal system (crystal structure) of the sodium cobaltate is hexagonal system, monoclinic system, or orthorhombic system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
