PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform determination of deterioration of a catalyst corresponding to influence of external environment or the like.

SOLUTION: This device includes a reaction speed operation means 208 for operating reaction speed of chemical reaction in an inside of a three-way catalyst from output of an oxygen sensor 125 on a downstream side of the three-way catalyst 120, an OSC index operation means 204 for operating oxygen storage capacity OSC of the three-way catalyst 120 from the oxygen sensor 125 and a linear air fuel ratio sensor 118 on an upstream side of the three-way catalyst 120, and a catalyst deterioration-determining means 209 for determining deterioration of the three-way catalyst 120 based on reaction speed and OSC index.
