摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely extinguish a fire by fire foam or a powder fire extinguishing material even in the case of a fire on the entire surface of flammable liquid in an oil tank whose diameter is 80-90 m or the like with respect to an auxiliary material for fire extinguishing. SOLUTION: The auxiliary material 1 for fire extinguishing is a hollow glass bead composed of the glass of a waste material whose outer diameter R is about 4-8 mm and thickness t is about 0.5-2 mm. By successively feeding them, since the temperature of a flame is lowered as well by a heat insulating effect, a heat insulating layer and an air interrupting layer formed on the surface of the flammable liquid such as petroleum are not destroyed. Since the heat conductivity of the hollow glass beads 1 is about 0.09 W/(m×K) and is smaller than any substances other than air, the hollow glass beads 1 indicate an excellent heat insulation property. When a square metal vat whose one side is about 1 m is filled with kerosene, it is fired, and the hollow glass beads 1 are successively fed when a flame is spread to the entire surface, the power of the flame is rapidly weakened, and it is immediately extinguished when the fire foam is jetted with a foam extinguisher on the market.
