The inclined wall (20) of the rotor has an inner primary groove (50) and a shallower outer secondary groove (60). The distance (X) between them and their relative depth and shape depends on the yarn being spun. The fibers from the two grooves are combined and twisted together as they are drawn off with the formation of a spinning angle so that the structure of the yarn resembles that of ring-spun yarn. An independent claim is included for the process of supplying and collecting fibers in a primary and a secondary groove, drawing off twisted strands and combining them into a yarn. The spinning angle between them depends on the groove spacing and the twist. The yarn is then collected and wound up.
|
