The bonnet has a front border area (12) and a rear bonnet area in a vehicle longitudinal direction, where the front border area transverse to a vehicle longitudinal direction exhibits a high flexural rigidity than the rear bonnet area. An intermediate area (14) is provided between the front border area and the rear bonnet area. The intermediate area has a geometrical material attenuation for dynamic decoupling of the areas. The front border area is rigid and the rear bonnet area is deformable. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle with a front bonnet.
