PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp device with an induction coil having small characteristic unevenness, allowing easy designing of a matching circuit. SOLUTION: In this device, a bobbin 3 is disposed such that an inner face of the bobbin 3 is close to a peripheral face of a bulb 1a enclosed with a discharge gas. An induction coil 2 is wound around the bobbin 3. A matching circuit 7 for matching an impedance of a high-frequency power source for supplying a high-frequency current to the induction coil 2 with an impedance of the induction coil 2 is inserted between the high-frequency power source and the induction coil 2. The induction coil 2 is wound around the bobbin 3 along the axial direction of the bobbin 3 such that the induction coil 2 is not overlapped in the radial direction of the bobbin 3. The bobbin 3 is formed with a cutout part through which a part of a coil wire of the induction coil 2 wound around the bobbin 3 contacts with the bulb 1a. |
