A connector comprising a plurality of elongate resilient contacts [terminal wires] 2 each having a first curved end 2d and a second curved end 2e opposite the first curved end; two contact retaining bodies 1a, 1b retaining at least one contact at a point intermediate the contacts two ends; each contact retaining body 1a, 1b forms half of a connector, the contact retaining bodies are combined such that first and second ends of contacts mounted in a first contact retaining body face first and second ends of contacts mounted within a second contact retaining body and together form terminal pinching portions; the combined contact retaining bodies are housed in a casing 3 having first and second open ends. The contacts 2 are insert moulded within the respective contact retaining bodies 1a, 1b. The retaining bodies and casing may be provided with latching features 1c, 3a and 3d. A plug receiving cylinder (4, fig.3) with bifurcate board pinching legs (4d, fig.3) may be connected to one side of the connector. A plug to be plugged into the connector is also provided. |
