Method for adhering a mechanical strip connection of two strip ends joined together using an adhesive strip comprises adhering over the upper side and the lower side of the connection using adhesive strip sections, in which the length of the sections correspond to the width of the strip ends. An independent claim is also included for an adhesive strip applicator for carrying out the above method. Preferred Features: The adhesive strip sections are pressed with clamping jaws onto the upper side and lower side of the strip connection. The adhesive strip sections are fixed with their non-adhering side on the clamping jaw.
