Display instrument comprising a dial and a rotating needle

Display instrument (1) has a front dial (2), which is provided with a scale (3) and a rotating pointer (4). A symbol (5) is arranged on the empty area of the front dial, on which the pointer can be rotated whereby the scale does not extends around the complete circumference of the front dial. An independent claim is also included for the application of the display instrument.
