A backlight unit comprises a substrate chassis(108) and a plurality of light sources formed on the substrate chassis. A radiation coating layer(110) is formed on a rear surface of the substrate chassis to radiate the heat generated from the light sources. The radiation coating layer has at least one of an aluminum anodizing layer and a ceramic coating layer. The ceramic coating layer includes SiO2 as a matrix, at least one component selected from a group consisting of MnO2, Al2O3, SiC, Fe2O3, TiO2, C, K2O, Na2O, and V2O5, as a filler, and Ag as a binder.
