Provided is a flame spread prevention device effective for an apartment building to prevent the spread of flame along porches from downstairs to upstairs and to push the flame outside. The flame spread prevention device is constituted by a body(20) fixed to an outer wall of a porch; a flame prevention plate(30) that is hinged onto the front side of the body(20) and has a sliding groove to accommodate an auxiliary flame prevention plate(40); a shock absorber(45) hinged between the auxiliary flame prevention plate(40) and the body(20); a buckle(50) for securing the flame prevention plate(30); an operating unit(61) for operating a solenoid operation cord(60) releasing the buckle(50); a flame hole(41) formed outwardly from the auxiliary flame prevention plate(40); a flame prevention unit(42) for pushing the flame outside; and a support bar(70) for holding up the flame prevention plate(30).
