A fastening system for fixing and/or aligning a sensor element, such as an infrared sensor, on a mounting rail has a fastening element that can be plugged from a front side into the rail at any desired position. The fastening element 1 has latching elements 13.1, 13.2 formed with grooves 14 that engage with a mounting rail (figure 4). An infrared sensor, or a part of it such as a circuit board, can be held in a clamping gap 9 formed between the upper half 7 and the lower half 8 of the fastening element 1. A latching strip 15, carrying markings 16, can be used to adjust the inclination of the sensor. In use, the fastening element 1 is mounted on the rail in any linear position by inserting it from the front onto the rail and locking element 19 is turned to fix the sensor in that position. |
