A method of calibrating a multichannel optoelectronic assembly comprises selecting first and second target wavelengths separated from each other by a predefined channel separation amount. The temperature of third optoelectronic assembly is set to a first value, which operates the optoelectronic assembly to emit light. The temperature is adjusted until the difference between an output wavelength of the optoelectronic assembly and the first target wavelength is less than a predefined value. A second value which corresponds to the adjusted temperature is stored as a second control value associated with the second target wavelength. An optoelectronic device comprising at least one temperature sensor for detecting a temperature associated with a laser diode is also disclosed.
