Disclosed is a method and a device for handing tires to remove potential anomalies that can occurto a green tire bead portion during pre-cure handling or storing. The tire bead stretcher (100) orients the bead portions (14,16) of the green tire parallel to one another. The bead portions of the tire maintain the parallel position as the tire is loaded into a tire mold (200).
