The support surface is oriented into a vertical position before cutting the fabric. A method for cutting a curtain fabric comprises the following steps: (1) positioning the fabric on a support surface; (2) orienting the support surface into a substantially vertical position; and (3) cutting the fabric. An independent claim is also included for the cutting device for carrying out this method.
