Invention herewith explained protects a new pharmaceutical form, a bilayer tablets, with carbamazepine as an active component. Specificity of formulation is in matrix system that is made of cellulose derivates of different viscosity and other auxiliary matters making for controlled release of carbamazepine during 8 hours, along with maintaining of certain level of healing substance in plasma. In the first hour, about 50% of the active substance becomes released, and the remaining is released gradually within the next 7 hours. Such a profile of release is achieved by application of a modern procedure for making a bilayer tablets, wherein one layer includes cellulose derivates, and the other carefully chosen derivates of cellulose of high viscosity.
