An MVA liquid crystal display device capable of obtaining optimal display state by eliminating display irregularities so that liquid crystal molecules maintain an ideal inclination direction. Transmission light passing through a liquid crystal layer is efficiently utilized by defining an angle of correction on a strip-like projection (12) and a corresponding slit (6) formed on a first or second substrate, changing the outline of signal line (3) and the shape of an edge part of a pixel electrode (4), and optimizing the direction of extension of the transmission axis of a polarizer and the slit. <IMAGE> |
