A mobile communication terminal having an overvoltage compensation function and a compensation method thereof are provided to continuously monitor a charge voltage to properly compensate the change of the voltage, thereby minimizing impact caused by overvoltage by stably preventing the overvoltage and a ripple voltage from being flowed into the terminal even in a normal charge mode and a USB(Universal Serial Bus) mode. A mobile communication terminal having an overvoltage compensation function comprises the followings: a differential amplifier(10) which amplifies a charge voltage; a voltage comparator(20) which compares the output voltage of the differential amplifier(10) with a reference voltage to selectively activate and output an overvoltage breaking signal according to the comparison result; and an breaking/maintaining unit(30) which selectively outputs one of the charge voltage or a voltage of a preset certain level according to whether or not the overvoltage breaking signal is activated.
