[Class 64(i)] A domestic water heater or boiler with two vertical annular and interconnected water chambers 7, 8 between which hot gases flow built-up from three or more superimposed sections 1, 3, 6 bolted together, the lowermost section 1 embodying the water inlet 28 and containing the burner and the uppermost section 3 embodying the flue gas outlet 4 and also the water outlet 27, intermediate section 6 or sections is or are provided with horizontal doublewalled partitions 11 which interconnect the two annular water chambers, the superimposed sections of the boiler being provided with interfitting spigot joints whereby the water chambers are continuous through the boiler, ports 22, 24, 26 being provided in the water chambers and in the double-walled partitions and being staggered to cause the hot gases from the burner to take a tortuous path on their way to the outlet. A hand-operated of thermostatically-controlled damper 19 is provided in the central flue passage. Several boilers may be connected in series or in parallel. |
