A retractor for a seat belt is provided to prevent a spring holder from directly contacting with an outer housing during the operation of a spiral spring. A retractor for a seat belt comprises a spiral spring(130) resiliently supporting a rotational shaft to which the seat belt is connected. The retractor includes a housing, and a spring holder(140). A screw thread is formed at a central portion of the housing. The spring holder includes a plate contacting with one end of the spiral spring. The spring holder has an engagement hole so that the rotational shaft can be fixed to the other side of a rotational pin vertically protruded from center portion of the plate and screw-coupled to the housing. A plurality of blades are radially formed on a same surface of the plate. Chrome is coated on a surface of the spring holder.
