The apparatus has a respired air humidifier (9) connected to a case (1) and comprising upper and lower parts (11, 12), where the upper part is not separable from the lower part. The humidifier has an air inlet at the lower part and an air outlet that is disposed at an angle of approximately 90 degrees with respect to the air inlet. The humidifier has vertical air flow driving elements centrally disposed in a humidification chamber. A terminating fitting connected to a pressure measurement fitting is disposed lateral to the air outlet. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a sound insulation case (2) a respiration air humidifier.
