A water supply control method of a washing machine is provided to change standard water supply amount by measuring the amount of needed water for washing by certain time when water supply speed is lower than a set standard speed. A water supply control method of a washing machine comprises the steps for detecting a water level of supplied water according to standard water level set according to the sensed laundry amount(S4); judging water supply speed according to the water level and the water supply time detected at the previous step(S5); changing the standard water level according to the judged water supply speed(S6,S7,S8); and supplying water according to the standard water level changed at the previous step(S9,S10,S3). In the water supplying step, if the water supply speed is over a set standard speed, water is continuously supplied to finish water supply in a predetermined time. Otherwise, the standard water level is changed.
