FLAT FLUORESCENT LAMP AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY USING THE SAME

A flat type of light emitting lamp and an LCD using the same are provided to improve the uniformity of brightness, by forming a ventilating hole at a lateral plate of the light emitting lamp. A rear plate(21) faces a front transparent substrate(22) with a discharge space therebetween. A lateral plate(25) is formed between the front transparent substrate and the rear plate. A ventilation hole(23) is formed in the later plate. An inert gas is injected into the discharge gas through the ventilation hole. The front transparent substrate is formed of a glass material, and the rear plate is formed of a metal material or a ceramic material.
