<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peroxisome proliferator-responsive receptor (PPAR) ligand agent originating from a safe food raw material, and to provide a composition for preventing and/or ameliorating and treating metabolic syndromes related to obesity, insulin resistance, hyperlipemia, diabetes and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The PPAR ligand agent comprises an amphiphilic solvent extract of one or more of paprika, horseradish, lemon, red pepper, sesame, spearmint and Brassica juncea as an active ingredient. The composition for preventing and/or ameliorating and treating metabolic syndromes related to obesity, insulin resistance, hyperlipemia and diabetes is provided by including the PPAR ligand agent.
