<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sustain such a state as required authentication is carried out even if a user is not operating a control panel by preventing sleep or autoclear under a state where a digital camera is connected with a printer, and to obtain a printed matter without waiting a reset time from sleep state. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus having an interface capable of direct communication with an external device comprises a means for detecting connection with the external device at the interface, a means for acquiring image data in the external device, a means for printing the image data acquired by the image data acquisition means, and an autoclear means for transiting the display of the control panel to an initial screen when a predetermined state sustains for a predetermined time wherein the autoclear means is disabled when connection with the external device is detected by the connection detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
