<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter of a fine pattern inexpensively by making use of both advantages of a printing method and an optical method. <P>SOLUTION: A transparent substrate (c) having a light shielding film and an alignment mark (BM mark) formed by use of a photolithographic process is used, and a printing plate having a pixel pattern and an alignment mark (plate mark) is used. First, a substrate (a) for test printing is printed based on the BM mark and the plate mark, and the printing position of the plate mark is detected and memorized by a camera 31.
