<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a demand control system capable of surely achieving target reduction rate of the electricity consumption amount. <P>SOLUTION: When an amount of used electric power exceeds an upper limit electricity consumption amount, a control unit 6 calculates a scheduled stop time t1, when the room temperature reaches the upper-limit temperature, based on the indoor temperature change. Then, the control unit decides on the actual stop time t2 of an air conditioner 2, based on the scheduled stop time t1 and the target reduction rate input, in advance. Based on the decision, the control unit 6 provides the air conditioner 2 with an instruction of the operation stop time t1; and when the stop time t2 reaches, the control unit makes the operation of a compressor stop. Thus, the working hours of the compressor of the air conditioner 2 during control operation can be surely reduced by the time shortened, by advancing the stop time t1 earlier than the scheduled stop time t2, as compared with the normal operation.
