<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for enhancing the activity of a chemokine receptor CXCR4, having cost merit and exhibiting effective action in a short time and provide a screening method for a CXCR4 action controlling substance by using the CXCR4 action enhancing agent. <P>SOLUTION: The agent for enhancing the activity of CXCR4 comprises N-acetylneuraminic acid sulfate, N-acetylneuraminic acid homopolymer sulfate or their pharmacologically permissible salt. The homing or take of a hematopoietic stem cell to the bone marrow after transplantation is expected to be enhanced by the enhancement of the CXCR4 action of the hematopoietic stem cell, and the transplantation may be established by using a small number of stem cells compared with conventional method and, accordingly, the agent can be used as an assisting agent for the transplantation of hematopoietic stem cell. The screening of a CXCR4 action controlling substance can be carried out effectively in high sensitivity by using the CXCR4 enhancing action of the CXCR4 action enhancing agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
