PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door closer and a door closing device of a sliding door capable of forcedly drawing the sliding door near the end section on a door closing side specially by making the door approach in the vicinity of the end section on the door closing side of the sliding door and, at the same time, properly decelerating the sliding door in the case just before the door is completely closed to make it as good door closing operation in the sliding door in various storage furniture such as a cupboard, a bookshelf and a showcase or the like, a cabinet or a screen of a room. SOLUTION: In the door closer, a hook 2 is pivotally connected to a sliding member 1 energized so as to move backward from the forward direction in a casing A by an elastic member 3 and a buffer member 4 generating resistance force reducing energized force of the elastic member 3. The hook 2 is made to maintain a transient stop state in an oscillating and tilting state on the horizontal plane only when it is located in the vicinity of a feed port 10f formed in the forward side of the casing A.
