PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine cooling system controller whose electric power consumption required for driving valves can be reduced while preserving controllability of an engine water temperature and valves. SOLUTION: The engine cooling system controller is equipped with cooling water passages a, b, c, d, e arranged between an engine E and a radiator R, a water pump P for circulating cooling water in these cooling water passages, heat exchangers H, W for performing heat exchange with the cooling water, a thermo valve 1 that has no normal open mechanism as well as regulating a circulating water volume flowing from the engine to the radiator, a cooling passage switching valves 4, 5 that has no normal open mechanism as well as regulating the circulating water volume flowing into the heat exchangers, a valve opening position memory means 9 for memorizing valve opening degrees of the thermo valve and cooling passage switching valves, and an electric power supply control means 6, 7, 8, 10 for controlling electric power supply to the thermo valve and the cooling passage switching valves. The electric power supply control means are schemed so as to control the electric power supply to the thermo valve and the cooling passage switching valves depending on an operational status of a vehicle.
