PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing generation of dust and smears, improving energy efficiency, and reducing costs. SOLUTION: The duplex transfer means 50 is constituted of a first heat transfer/fixing unit 47 and a second heat transfer/fixing unit 48. The toner on a first intermediate transfer belt 21 is heat-transferred to a first heat transfer body 47A of the first heat transfer/fixing unit 47, and is heat transferred from the heat transfer body 47A to a recording body so as to be fixed. The toner on a second intermediate transfer belt 31 is heat-transferred to a second heat transfer body 48A of the second heat-transfer/fixing unit 48, and is heat transferred from the heat transfer body 48A to the recording body and fixed.
