摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving operation assisting device for a vehicle for calculating an appropriate relative speed from an inter-vehicle distance detected by a laser radar so as to conduct reaction force control and breaking driving control in response to risk potential. SOLUTION: The device calculates the risk potential against the front obstacle of its own vehicle, and when the potential is high, it decreases the driving force generated in its own vehicle and also increases the operational reaction force generated in operating an accelerator pedal. The device calculates a relative speed for use in the calculation of the risk potential by performing operational processing for the inter-vehicle distance between its own vehicle and the obstacle detected by the laser radar in use of a filter for a differential operation. The filter has a filter characteristic with a high response and a filter characteristic with a low response, the device selects the filter with the high response when the driver intends to override, and selects the filter with the low response when it does not intend to override.
