The pressure switch has an actuator diaphragm [11] and pressure is applied to the top side. The centre part [5] acts on a metal snap action disc [3] which normally is in contact with fixed contacts [2]. When the pressure reaches a limit the disc inverts against a support ring [9] and the contacts open.
