The device has an optical transmitter and an optical receiving unit (20), where a stator unit (12) and a rotor unit (14) are provided for adjustment of the transmitter and the receiving unit. The rotor unit is rotatable relative to the stator unit, where the movement of a switching unit is linked with the movement of the rotor unit. Diaphragm openings are optically arranged between the transmitter and the receiving unit. The rotor unit or the stator unit is cylindrically designed and is rotatably arranged within or outside the stator unit. The transmitter or the receiving unit is arranged with radial distance at a rotation axis of the rotor unit.
