<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device having a mechanism capable of performing the separating operation of a photoreceptor drum and a developing roller with simple constitution while achieving space saving. <P>SOLUTION: The process cartridge is constituted of a first frame body for supporting the photoreceptor drum, and a second frame body for supporting the developing roller and a driving input gear, wherein the second frame body takes first attitude in which the photoreceptor drum and the developing roller abut on each other so as to form an image and second attitude in which the photoreceptor drum and the developing roller are separated from each other, and the driving input gear is provided coaxially with the turning center of the second frame body with respect to the first frame body. In the developing device provided to the image forming apparatus to/from which the process cartridge can be attached/detached, the developing roller is supported through a one-way clutch for preventing the developing roller from rotating in a reverse direction to that when forming the image. The driving motor in the image forming apparatus rotates by a predetermined amount in the reverse direction to that when forming the image, whereby the first attitude is switched to the second attitude. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
