<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct liquid fuel cell system and a fuel cartridge in which the supply of a liquid fuel to a fuel cell is easily controlled. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is provided with a housing 110 on one side of which a cartridge groove is formed with an opening 116 formed in the longitudinal direction of the cartridge groove, the fuel cell 140 installed inside of one surface of the housing, a fuel cartridge 120 to accommodate the liquid fuel to be supplied to an anode electrode 146, and a fuel transport part to transport the liquid fuel in the fuel cartridge.
